Healing Power Comes From God Alone

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Nothing is nothing. Without Jesus men could never heal other men.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

All things are all things.

2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Philippians 2:13: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

God*s power sometimes works through men but it is still God*s power. It comes from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, the Bible.

Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

1 Thessalonians 2:13: For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

At certain times and certain places God gave Jesus* disciples temporary power to heal. It was still God*s power. Barnabas and Paul would not accept worship for the healing that God did through them. They wanted the glory to go to God. Would to God that would-be healers in our time wanted that.

Acts 14:8: And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother*s womb, who never had walked: 9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. 11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. 12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. 13 Then the priest of Jupiter, which was before their city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people. 14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:

1 Corinthians 10:31b: Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

When God sent Cornelius to see Peter (See Acts 10:1-25) he began to worship Peter. Peter would not accept his worship either. He wanted Cornelius to worship God.

Acts 10:25: And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. 26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

Even an angel of God would not accept worship.

Revelation 19:10: And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Revelation 22:9: Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
